Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba Quartz H82201931 100M Men’s Watch

As a recreational diver diving to depths of no more than 30 to 50 meters or so, I did not need a professional dive watch. My dive instructor out of Florida, recommended the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba Quartz H82201931 100M Men’s Watch. “you can use it for dives up to 100 meters” he said. So, the watch was perfect for my purpose.

Of course, there were other watches to consider and they were roughly in the same price range (around $700 or thereabouts). But I decided that it was best to follow the dive instructor’s recommendation. After all, the recommendation would have been based on experience with the dive watch.

That said, after coughing up a godly sum of money for the recreational diver’s course, I was a bit shy of spending $700 odd for a watch that I would use maybe twice or thrice a year.

In preparation of the final stages of the dive course, I logged on to the internet and searched for dive watches for recreational divers. A hundred clicks later, I arrived at this site called Zeta Watches ( https://www.zetawatches.com/ ) and they had several models on offer. I located the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba Quartz H82201931 100M Men’s Watch and found it’s design to be quite appealing in that it could also be used casually like every day to work or play and not necessarily only for diving. This was definitely a huge plus point.

Another surprise was that the watch had a retail price tag of $670 but was being offered at Zeta Watches for $482. Before buying, I made sure this was not a refurbished piece and that it offered an international warranty. Peace of mind assured, I went ahead and bought the watch.

Most online purchases are delivered in a span of three days. Amazon often surprises me with next day deliveries. In this case however, the watch arrived after 3 full weeks. I remember that after the first week I called the company to find out what happened. Seems the delay is usually because of customs formalities; the watch is manufactured in Switzerland and imported from there. Fortunately for me, I did not have to pay any customs duty and so the final price of the watch was the amount I had paid which was $482.

For those wanting to know the technical details, the watch has a thick nylon strap attached to a stainless-steel case that houses the watch mechanism. It is a Quartz watch with a scratch resistant Sapphire Crystal top. The hands and hour markers are thick and luminescent white on a black dial. I can confirm that the time is clearly visible up to depths of 30 meters (So far have not gone deeper than that). It has traditional analog display (seconds, minute and hour hands). The hour markers are in the form of triangles and dots. The bezel is uni directional rotation. At 17mm, the watch is a bit thickish but it is not noticeable.

If like me, you are about to enter the wonderful world of recreational diving, then the Hamilton Khaki Navy Scuba Quartz H82201931 100M Men’s Watch is a perfect match and at $482 at  https://www.zetawatches.com/, the price too, is perfect.
